The Summer Dad Went Gay wins first Cinekid / Filmmore Award

This year Cinekid and Filmmore collaborated for the first time which resulted in the Filmmore Post-Production Award awarded to the best live-action project of JCM. This prize is designed to stimulate collaboration with the Dutch Visual Effects & Post Production lab Filmmore. Granting the award, which comes with a €5,000 prize, is an invitation to start a longer and fruitful collaboration between Cinekid and Filmmore.

The winner of the first Filmmore Post-Production Award is The Summer Dad Went Gay, directed by Petter Naess and written by Endre Lund Eriksen. Produced by Fabelfjord AS (NO).

The jury, with Stine Bomholt-Hansen (DK), Judy Steenman (NL) and Greet Stevens (BE), praises the great storyline, ‘that touches on relevant subjects in a humorous way. Besides that, The Summer Dad Went Gay had a very specific and thought-out idea about how they want to tell this story visually and which role the post-production could play in this process. The team was convincing and had a strong presentation in which they showed a clear vision for their film.’
