Caroline Strubbe’s highly anticipated follow-up to her feature debut, the Cannes Critic’s Week hit Lost Persons Area.

A thirty-year-old man, Szabolcs, is on the run with a nine-year-old girl, Tess. He tries nervously to keep the girl a secret as they take a ferry. On the boat, Tess discovers in a newspaper that her parents have died. Shocked by this news, she adopts some obsessive behaviour. Together they end up hiding in a small cottage near the sea where they survive their day-to-day worries.

As Tess learns to express her mourning and obsessions by using her creativity, Szabolcs slowly accepts his new role in her life. Their time of mourning and grief together makes them soulmates and they become interdependent for life. But can Szabolcs keep her a secret for the outer-world?
