De Prooi is based on Jeroen Smit’s bestseller by of the same name and tells the story of the rise and fall of ABN AMRO CEO Rijkman Groenink. His ruthless, ambitious plan to make the bank one of the five largest banks in the world quickly proves an incredibly high-risk strategy. Big takeovers cost the bank more than expected, and bring in less.

Then the bank’s value collapses. At the same time, a series of dramatic events unfolds that forces Rijkman Groenink to take extreme measures to stop ABN AMRO being sold off and split up.
